Opera Plovdiv is a unique cultural instituton. They are inspiring and easily meet audiance expectation with their modern vision even for people who are not opera fans. Opera Open Festival is one of the best things you can do in Plovdiv during the summer - both with the outstanding content and the wonderful stage of the Ancient Theater.

Uncomfortable seats, they sink back, and the floor slopes forward, and there is not enough space between the rows. Poor acoustics, and on top of that, the sound director's desk is right in the middle of the center aisle, blocking the view of the surrounding spectators. The orchestra is deep and narrow. Bad air conditioning. The service staff is unresponsive.
Tonight, 01.02. I was at a performance of "The Bat" I realized how much work was put in by so many talented people to enjoy this show! Let me be direct. I didn't like the third act. It was annoyingly long and slow. Thanks for the experience though!!!
